This PCI Express card by Delock expands the PC by two external USB 5 Gbps ports as well as two internal USB 5 Gbps ports. Different USB devices such as USB flash memory, card reader, external enclosure etc. can be connected.
Dual channel
The Delock PCIe card provides two dedicated 5 Gbit/s channels, each channel being connected to two USB ports. This design with independent ports improves performance by transferring data to two individual PCI Express channels. This allows the data transfer to take place faster.
If several USB devices are connected to a conventional PCI Express card (single bus), the maximum bandwidth is distributed to all ports. Due to the two used host controller chipsets, the Delock card only uses two ports instead of four, on one channel. This reduces bottlenecks and doubles the available bandwidth.
Due to the on-board 5 V DC power supply control, the PCIe card does not require any additional power supply.
